KUCHING: Police have arrested a suspect near a supermarket at Jalan Tun Ahmad Adruce here for peddling drugs. Acting on information received, a team from the State Narcotics Crime arrested the man last Friday at about 4.30 pm. Shortly later on the same day, he brought police to his house in Kampung Tupong Batu, Petra Jaya where several types of drugs were found.
Seized were drugs suspected to be marijuana taken from under a mattress (105gm), a second find taken from the kitchen ceiling (770gm) and a third under the bedroom carpet (26gm). The suspect admitted peddling drugs since the middle of last year and was tested positive for drugs.
He was to be investigated under Section 39B ADB 1952 and Section 15 (1) (a) of ADB 1952, an offence which calls for death sentence if convicted. Total value of drugs found was estimated to be worth RM18,020. The suspect was remanded for seven daysat the Sekama lockup pending investigation.
