KUCHING: The police here seized 114 straw tubes filled with crystalline substance believed to be syabu worth RM5,509.80 and detained a jobless teenager yesterday morning.
Acting on information received, a team from the district’s anti-narcotics unit picked up the 19-year-old boy from Kampung Ratu, Petra Jaya at a roadside near Kampung Semarang at around 10.30am.
The suspect was taken to Kuching District Police Headquarters and was later tested positive for drugs.
Kuching Police District chief, ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under Section 39A(2) and 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
