SIBU: Police have crippled the distribution of ecstasy drugs or hallucinogenic pills in this central township with the arrest of an unemployed man on Thursday (Oct 14).

District deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat said the 39-year-old suspect was arrested around 10.30am in a house at Jalan Medan.

“The suspect is believed to be actively distributing drugs around the municipality.

“We also searched his house and managed to find a black plastic bag containing 198.26g of ecstasy pills,” he said on Friday (Oct 15).

He added that the drugs worth RM6,650 along with a RM15,000 car, were seized as evidence.

The suspect is being remanded for six days until Oct 21 to facilitate investigation under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
