Police issue RM92,000 worth of compounds

KUCHING: Ninety-two compounds worth RM92,000 were issued by the police compliance monitoring team.

Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said in the statement today, most offences  committed from Feb 25 to March 3 pertained to failure to limit the number of people at a premises and failure to register using the MySejahtera application.

The compounds were issued under the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Act 1988 (Act 342).

Of the total number of compounds issued to individuals, 52  of the offenders were men while  28 were women; the total value was RM80,000.

Meanwhile, 12 compounds with a total  value of RM12,000.were issued to premises.

Ahsmon reminded the public to always comply with the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the ongoing pandemic.
