Police launch firm monitoring of supervisors to improve service delivery

KUCHING: The district police headquarters (IPD) has launched the CMOS (close monitoring of supervisor) initiative to improve governance and ensure high-quality services for the community.

Kuching police chief Ahsmon Bajah said that the first initiative at the district level encompasses four key concepts, namely Know Your Man One-to-One, Briefing and Debriefing, Religious, Civic, and Governance (RCG), and e-Complaint.

“Under the CMOS initiative, I will personally supervise all officers, division chiefs, police station chiefs, branch chiefs, and unit chiefs to ensure proper execution of their duties.

“We also introduced a 3P concept of ‘penyeliaan’, ‘pemacu’, and ‘prestasi’ (supervision, drive, and performance) for all police officers, members and civil servants to enhance service delivery,” he said during the IPD  monthly assembly this morning.

He pointed out that it is important for senior officers to supervise themselves before supervising others.

They must understand the scope of their duties and responsibilities as per the law and regulations, enabling them to guide and train subordinates effectively.

“This is to ensure that policies are implemented and community needs are met with the highest standard of service delivery,” he said.

Ahsmon said police will soon be launching an e-Complaint platform, which allows members of the community to submit complaints online, ensuring swift action by the police.

“We will also ensure that the identity of complainants would remain confidential and it will not be leaked,” he said.
