MIRI: A police manhunt is currently underway for two individuals suspected of involvement in a recent house robbery.

The incident was reported to have occurred on Thursday morning (Mar 21) at 4.15am at Ocean Park residential area here.

Valuables worth RM50,000 were reported stolen in the incident.

During the incident, a 70 year-old grandmother and her 10 -year-old grandson were tied up by the intruders. Fortunately, they were unharmed.

According to Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu when contacted, they have received a police report over the incident.

It was made to understand that both victims were found tied up by burglars who were armed with knives during the ransacking of their home.

In a related incident just one day prior to the present case, a house breaking was reported in the Hilltop residential area.

The police are currently investigating any potential connections between the two cases.

The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code .
