KOTA SAMARAHAN: Police are actively tracking down a man vandalism against public vehicles on the road in front of Bucida Resident here.

Samarahan District Police Chief DSP Jaimi Husin said they received a report about the incident at approximately 3:49 PM today from the victim, a local woman.

“According to the victim’s complaint, while driving her Honda car on that road, her vehicle was suddenly hit by the suspect, believed to be mentally unstable, using a stick, causing damage to the left rear light.

“As a result of the incident, the victim suffered an estimated loss of RM1,200,” he said in a statement today.

Jaimi added that an investigation paper has been opened under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

He said the suspect could be sentenced to imprisonment for a period of not less than one year and not more than five years, or fined, or both.

“Acting on the complaint, we are actively tracking down the suspect for further investigation.

“The public who have been victims or witnesses of the incident are requested to come forward at any nearby police station to assist in the investigation or directly contact the case investigating officer, Inspector Mohammad Adri, at 014-8651605,” he said.

In a 15-second video recording that went viral on Facebook, the incident showed a man hitting a vehicle with a stick while passing through the road.

It is understood that the incident occurred on Tuesday morning based on the date of the video recording.
