SIBU: Two men were arrested for dangerously riding their motorcycles in an operation codenamed ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’ last Saturday (Jan 8).

The operation, led by Sarawak Traffic Police deputy chief DSP Mathew Manggie together with Sibu traffic policemen, was conducted at Jalan Tun Zaidi Edruce from 10pm to 3.30am.

The duo, aged 16 and 20 years, were spotted performing dangerous stunts on their motorcycles.

Alexson noted that the first suspect, a 20-year-old car washer, was found to have performed a head-bowing stunt.

“Meanwhile, the second suspect, a 16-year-old student, was arrested for performing a ‘wheelie’ stunt.

“Both of them were arrested under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and brought to the police station for further action,” he said.

In the operation, police also inspected four individuals from three vehicles and issued a total of 13 traffic summonses.
