BINTULU: A suspected drug dealer was caught with 5.2 grams of what is believed to be Syabu at Nyigu’s residential area here on today.

Bintulu police chief, Superintendent Bartholomew Umpit, said that the 51-year-old foreign man was arrested by officers from Narcotics Crime Investigation Division at the Bintulu District Police Headquarters (IPD).

“We found about 5.2 grams of syabu on him,” said Bartholomew.

He added these drugs were meant to be sold to 10 to 15 people in Bintulu.

The drug tests also showed the man had taken methamphetamine. He will now face charges under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Additionally, as he didn’t have proper travel documents, he’ll be investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963.

Police confiscate suspected syabu.
