SIBU: A knife-wielding motorcyclist was arrested yesterday after he terrorised the streets brandishing a knife while riding.
The arrest followed a 16-second video clip that went viral, showing the suspect riding a motorcycle and waving the knife at the people around Jalan Pulau here, causing public fear.
Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) managed to trace the suspect and arrested him near Jalan Bukit Assek around 9pm last night (Dec 27).
“Also seized were a knife and a motorcycle belonging to the suspect.
“The case is being investigated under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958,” he said, adding that the suspect already has previous criminal records.
