BINTANGOR: A recent vandalism at Muara Lebaan Bintangor cemetery resulted in 79 tombs being desecrated.
According to Meradong police chief DSP Sekam Anoi, he said the culprit broke down the tomb cement and dug out the graves, exposing the coffins.
He added that the last time the complainant and people in the village visited the cemetery was on March 30 this year.
“On April 12, the Bintangor police station received a report regarding the incident at 12.33pm,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Sekam said that the complainants were made aware of the incident through a Facebook post.
He urged members of the public who have information about the incident to contact the police at 084-693222.
