MIRI: Miri Divisional Disaster Relief Management Committee (MDMC) today (Nov 18) lodged a police report over a fake allegation that it had allowed a bus loaded with 46 passengers enter Miri from Sabah by land recently.

The posting was posted by a person named ‘Jenifer Lawrence’ on the ‘Sarawak Covid-19 Awareness group’.

The police report was lodged at Miri Central Police Station (CPS) at 3.34pm today.

This morning, MDMC chairman cum Acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf denied the allegation.

“What actually happened was that on Monday (Nov 16), a flight from Sabah (Air Asia- AK 6075) arrived in Miri with 46 passengers. The passengers were immediately taken to a hotel in the city by a bus for quarantine,” said Aziz.

He added the bus was sanitized properly after transporting the passengers.
