ASTRO Shaw, Skop Productions and TGV Cinemas’ action comedy “Polis Evo 3” is going strong at the box office, with its latest collection now above RM30 million.
The movie has surpassed the box office collection of its predecessor “Polis Evo 2”, which had RM23 million in 44 days.
The first movie in the series, “Polis Evo” (2015), was the first local film to exceed box office earnings of RM18 million.
Executive producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said in a statement that the box office collection of the latest movie had broken the overall collection record of “Polis Evo 2” within a week.
“This positive momentum demonstrates a promising performance for the film. We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has watched ‘Polis Evo 3’ in cinemas.”
Raja Jastina said that actor Sharnaaz Ahmad, in particular, has captivated many with his solid performance as the enigmatic antagonist Reza.
Directed by Syafiq Yusof, the film stars Zizan Razak, Shaheizy Sam, Sharnaaz, Nora Danish, Syafiq Kyle, Farali Khan, Douglas Lim, Fauzi Nawawi, Fezrul Khan, Eyka Farhana and many others.
“Polis Evo 3” tells the story of Inspector Khai and Inspector Sani, who return with a new mission and a new team, joined by Inspector Dani, Inspector Julie and Inspector Dell, each with their own expertise.
The situation turns dire when Inspector Khai finds himself as the next target. The friendship between Inspector Khai and Inspector Sani is tested when they discover that the suspect they are hunting down, Reza, has a past with Inspector Khai.
The stars of “Polis Evo 3” will be visiting Singapore, Johor and Melaka from June 8 to 11. They will also visit Sarawak and Sabah from June 14 to 18.
