MUKAH: The Civil Engineering Department of Politeknik Mukah (PMU) has established a close collaboration with the Industrial Advisor Programme, featuring civil engineer Ts. Satwant Singh Sarawan from the Public Works Department (JKR) of Miri Division.

This partnership has significantly benefitted the Civil Engineering Department, particularly in enhancing the professional development of its lecturers, and aims to strengthen ties between the industry and the polytechnic.

Additionally, it has improved the quality of civil engineering education, preparing graduates to meet industry standards effectively.

Head of the Civil Engineering Department at PMU, Canarisa Nipi Ah Lian, noted that this collaboration provides lecturers with valuable opportunities to gain practical knowledge from industry experts.

“We greatly appreciate Ts. Satwant Singh’s willingness to share his knowledge and experience,” she said.

“This not only enriches the learning experience for lecturers but also helps to improve the quality of teaching and learning in our department.”

Satwant expressed pride in being involved in the programme and stressed the importance of continued knowledge-sharing initiatives.
