MUKAH: Mohammad Abdul Hakim Busrah has been selected to represent Politeknik Mukah (PMU) to participate in the World Skills Competition (WSC) 2022 in Web Technologies in Shah Alam, Selangor on Feb 6-9.
Hailing from Sarikei, the 20-year-old fifth semester student is currently taking a Diploma in Information Technology (Digital Technology) at PMU.
He will compete against participants from Kolej Vokasional Shah Alam, Universiti Teknikal Melaka (UTeM) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL MIIT) in a face-to-face practical examination at the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST), Shah Alam.
On Nov 9-10 last year, they had competed in the preliminary round stage 1 (theory examination) online together with 20 other participants from various teams.
PMU deputy director (Academic) Iskandar Reduan said PMU would always provide the necessary support and commitment to ensure that the student was adequately assisted and guided in development of skill and effective psychomotor.
”I hope that Hakim will not feel stress during the course of training, and try to pray to God also to seek for calmness and comfort,” he said when officiating at the PMU Contingent WSC 2022 Intensive Training virtually here on Tuesday (Jan 25).
The training was a show of support by PMU management to Hakim, who had qualified together with four others, for the final selection of the national candidate for WSC 2022.
PMU PollySkills secretary Amy Mariati Jay said the intensive training session with the invited speakers was carried out virtually from Jan 25 to 27.
She added it was in addition to the current training since Jan 16 and will end until Hakim departs for Shah Alam, Selangor on Feb 5.
PMU Infrastructure System head Wan Ahmad Jailani Wan Ngah, invited speaker from CIAST, Shah Alam, Wan Jamalilail Wan Mohd Zen, PMU PolySkills coordinator cum public relation officer Mohd Baharruddin Mohamad, CISEC Unit head Mohd Azlan Ab Aziz and Performance Managemant Unit head Aisyah Suhaila Jili also attended the event.
