BETONG: Layar assemblyman Gerald Rentap Jabu lent a helping hand to Betong Metro Polytechnic students who were unable to return home following the Covid-19 nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO).
Donations in the form of food items and daily necessitieswere handed over to the students by Betong Community College director Shairul Al-Suzana Shahidan.
According to Shairul, they had sought help from the Layar assemblyman to look into the plight of the students.
“The move was taken due to our concern for the students who had to stay in hostels throughout the MCO period.
“We are worried that they do not have enough food and other essential items,” he said when contacted by reporter yesterday.
Shairul and the whole polytechnic community thanked Rentap for the assistance provided.
