KUCHING: Best Mom Weekend Market is dedicated to promoting and supporting local brands with a view to help them establish their own unique identities.
The weekend market also aims to foster a sense of community among local brands, with a particular focus on supporting women entrepreneurs.
A total of 24 pop-up booths feature at the weekend market being held for three days, from May 10 until May 12 , at the lobby of Plaza Merdeka.
Voila! market event organiser, Tracy Yong said most of the entrepreneurs are women.
“We strive to foster a sense of community among our local brands, enabling them to establish and grow their own unique brand identities.
“There are newcomers like ‘Bianca’ and also ‘Cha Kombucha’ . This is their first pop-up booth in a shopping mall.
Yong added that, this kind of events can help them share marketing ideas and how to display their product particularly in shopping malls.
Claire Bong, 32 year-old, florist, said this is her first pop-up booth and that prior to this they just sold their products online.
“Actually we are just trying to go out to the market and then see the reaction and how big we’re going to go.”
“We just launched our business this year and as the sole focus of my work, I am fully dedicated to my florist business.
“I like flowers and I see all people like flowers but they are rather expensive so we sell our fresh flowers at reasonable prices so that everyone can get fresh flowers.
“Our price range starts from RM10 with normal wrapping and medium bouquet for RM15 and as for basket flowers there are five to six different flowers and it is priced around RM100,” Bong said.
