KUCHING: Bintang P. Ramlee, a popular singing competition and a tribute to legendary Malaysian singer and actor, the late Tan Sri P.Ramlee, is making a comeback.
Themed Malam Seribu Bintang, the competition is scheduled to be held this Saturday (Oct 22) at 9pm at Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya.
Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said 12 contestants would compete for cash prizes totalling RM20,000.
“This competition is organised in collaboration with RTM Sarawak and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts.”
His speech was read by principal assistant secretary Nasir Lariwoo during the press conference for the competition on yesterday (Oct 18).
He added that this time, the competition would be in the form of a duet.
“Northern Zone will be represented by Mohd Ameeruezul Maula Abdul Aziz and Noor Nazatul Mohd Hussin, while Central Zone will be represented by Zainol Roslan and Nabilah Mohammad.
“At the same time, Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife will be attending the competition.”
The competition will be hosted by Fahrin Ahmad and Nana Mahazan, featuring performances by Liza Hanim, Dayang Nurfaizah, Naim Daniel, Abu Zahid Ibrahim and Abdul Manaf Seron.
The competition is also carried on Channel TV2, TV Okey alongside radio station such as Radio Klasik and SARAWAKfm.
