MUKAH: The Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) has decided to name the popular food and drinks site at the Mukah New Township here, the Mukah Food Street.

Walikota Kadir Jamil said MDDM was in the process of applying with the Land and Survey Department for change of site usage – from car park to food and drinks.

He added that the Ramadan Bazaar would also be sited at Mukah Food Street. “However, the final say whether or not to allow the Ramadan Bazaar to operate depends on the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) or the divisional DMC.”

Kadir said for the Ramadan Bazaar, some 160 spots had been allocated.

He was speaking during a visit to the site for a proposed fruit stall project today (April 1).

The project will be implemented this year and scheduled for completion within three months.

He said registration of traders for the Ramadan Bazaar was handled by Mukah Division Hawkers and Traders Association.
