KOTA PADAWAN: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang  advised Kuching Water Board and the Department of Rural Water Supply to ensure  that their contractors  involved  in laying water pipes to do their jobs properly.

Lo said the laying of pipes and digging the road and not covering up the road properly are causing a lot damages to the roads.

“I would like to mention here also, Batu Kitang has the same issue where huge pipes had  been laid along the Batu Kitang Road from the Treatment Plant and all these pipelines once they are laid and the contractors are not doing a proper job,” he said at a press conference  after the MPP Full Council Meeting here yesterday.

“The contractors are not doing a proper job and I would like to advise the authorities concerned i.e Water Board and Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (JBALB)  to advise their contractors to do their job properly,” he said.

Lo said  Batu Kitang is under JABALB while Semeba is under Kuching Water Board.

“I would like to advise these authorities  because  this is a problem that has been  recurring not just today but every time   the Water Board or JABALB take up  a pipeline , they don’t ensure  that their contractors do a good job.”

Earlier,  Councillor Wilfred Yap advised  Julian Tan, the  Member of Parliament for Stampin and Abdul Aziz Isa,  the special assistant to YB Chong Chieng Jen, the MP for Bandar Kuching and Kota Sentosa Assemblyman,  to do  go and do their homework.

“Recently, there was this very bad comment  made by MP Julian Tan and Abdul Aziz  the special assistant to  Chong  Chieng  Jen on  the road condition at Jalan Semaba.

“Instead of making blunt statement  in the press, they should  go and do their  homework. Those potholes have nothing to do with the council. Because as far as the council is concerned, all those roads are properly maintained,” he said.
