BALINGIAN: Drivers and riders using the 10-kilometer stretch from Balingian Bridge to Kuala Tatau Bridge are advised to travel carefully.
This advice was given because the road throughout that stretch was said to be in bad condition.
Talking to Suara Sarawak, a road user Junai Ali who returned from Bintulu to Mukah said the road in the area was damaged with plenty of potholes of various sizes.
He reminded road users if possible to avoid travelling at night and advised them to plan a day trip to prevent any untoward incidents.
Another road user from Mukah, Izam Mentali also reported that as of June 15, the road conditions were bad from Pekan Balingian to the areas before Kuala Tatau Bridge because the road surface has yet to be repaired.
He also said that the road users hoped immediate repair would be taken by the authorities.
“Due to the bad conditions, two tyres of my car were shattered after passing through a few potholes on the road which would pose similar danger to other users.
“Various sizes of potholes exist due to the rain and further aggravate by heavy-load vehicles coming from Balingian and Bintulu.
“We all hope that the authorities will repair the road as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, let us take extra care of the safety of ourselves and our vehicles as well as avoid any inconveniences,” he added.
