KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) triennial general meeting (TGM) on June 16-19 will be opened by its president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
PBB secretary general, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the TGM will start with the youth wing meeting and on the next day it will be continued with the party’s main branch meeting.
“During this TGM later, PBB will also hold elections for positions at all levels, namely the youth wing, women wing and the main branch.
“And the venue will be at the Borneo Convention Centre, here,” he said during a press conference after a PBB Supreme Council meeting chaired earlier by Abang Johari today.
He said during the meeting, the party also touched on the amendment to the party’s constitution to enable the party to set up a new youth wing for those aged 18 to 28 as party members.
“We want to include them in our party because they are the voters who are automatically registered … therefore PBB will give chances to them,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nanta said the party has received lots of motions after 82 of its party branches held their branch triennial delegates meeting recently.
“Among them is a motion that the party top posts namely that of president (Abang Johari) and deputies president (Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan) should not be contested during the TGM,” he said.
