KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Sarawak has until the second week of September to set up 31 divisions in the state with their respective pro tem committees. PPBM Sarawak pro tem chairman, Johan Mohamad said his group and two other groups had agreed to consolidate into one group. “Basically, there is just one team now. There are no more splits and there is only group now for Bersatu Sarawak.
“We are asked to set up 31 divisions and come up with the pro tem committees. “At the moment, 22 divisions have already been finalised while the others are still in the process of being finalised. “Kuching is already covered. Certain areas like Ulu Rajang, Sibuti and Baram are now in the final stage.
Hopefully, by next week, they will be finalised for submission,” he disclosed at a press conference held at the building of Persatuan Kebangsaan Melayu Malaysia Sarawak at Jalan Haji Taha here on Sunday night. According to Johan, the names will be submitted to the party’s central leadership latest by the second week of September.
He added that the chairmen of each of the 31 divisions would be appointed by the party President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. According to Johan, once the division chiefs have been appointed, PPBM Sarawak will then hold its first general meeting to appoint a state chairman. He said PPBM Sarawak would make an impact on the local political scene.
The party would be fighting for the socio- economic well-being of the people and fair distribution of the economy. Sarawakians, he added, were welcome to join the party.
