KUCHING: There is an upcoming opportunity for keen individuals to obtain a Certificate in Safety and Health Officer Programme (CiSHO) by undergoing a fully funded programme at Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) in Tabuan Jaya here.
Registration is now open, but those who are interested should act fast as there are limited slots.
“The CiSHO programme is fully funded under the Golongan Pekerja dan Future Workers (GPFW) scheme, which covers the tuition fees and examination fees,” said Hallman Sabri, executive director of PPKS.
According to Hallman, applicants will only need to pay a registration fee of RM250 for the CiSHO programme.
“There will be two intakes this year, one in July and another in August. Each intake is limited to 25 applicants, and you must be between 21 and 45 years old to apply,” Hallman informed.
He said diploma and bachelor’s degree holders (preferably from an engineering background) who are fresh graduates, unemployed graduates, retrenched workers or those who have opted for the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) are encouraged to apply.
“The CiSHO programme is a six-month full-time programme. Trainees will attend classes for the theoretical component for three months at PPKS Campus in Tabuan Jaya.
Once trainees pass their examination and complete the programme, they will be awarded the CiSHO certificate by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
