SIMANGGANG: Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis called on relevant parties to expedite the pending Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects.
“We must quickly complete the projects that have been approved, especially last year’s RTP projects, because this year’s RTP projects will begin.
He pressed on this subject matter to avoid a double burden with the commencement of the current year’s RTP.
Harden, who is also Simanggang assemblyman said that all developments under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government does not stop.
He added that if the RTP projects are not completed, it could become a burden, especially for the implementing agencies, as they have to prepare the project specifications and scope of work before the contract can be offered to the approved contractor through an open tender.
“Therefore, please complete last year’s RTP projects quickly,” he pointed out after visiting several RTP projects in his constituency yesterday.
He also emphasised that ground visits to each project site were important to gather accurate information about the project status, as this would facilitate the delivery of accurate information to the public.
“For me, working alongside the implementing agencies to visit the project sites is to ensure all approved projects can be completed on schedule. Subsequently, it will benefit the state and the people.
“This is a continuous process to monitor the well-being of the people who have given their trust and mandate to the current ruling party (GPS),” he said.
