KUCHING: An 18-year-old youth is wanted by police for statutory rape allegation.
It is understood that the complaint, a 15-year-old (his girlfriend) from Jalan Foo Chow, claimed that she was raped by her boyfriend (suspect) in August last year.
The victim lodged a police report on Friday after she was confirmed to be eight months pregnant.
The victim admitted to having sex with the suspect at a house in Tabuan Jaya and is now pregnant but the suspect refused to be responsible, which prompted her to lodge a police report.
Acting district police chief Supt Ismail Mahmood, when contacted, confirmed the case and said that the victim has been referred to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further checks and treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
