One-stop food centre

The Premier 101 Food Centre located at Jalan Kempas, Tabuan Heights is well known as a food emporium of local and international cuisine. It is an open-air food centre where everyone can enjoy the ambiance of people’s chattering, and there’s a high chance you could even find your friends and families there too!

The food centre offers a wide variety of food ranging from local-favourites Kolo Mee, Sate, Laksa, Oyster Pancake, and Kampua Mee to western delights such as grilled chicken chop, Pinoy (Phillipine) cuisines, and the Japanese mochi. Why is it called 101 Food Centre? According to the tenants, it is because there are a total of 101 stalls operating in the location, or more, but the number 101 is the initial figure.

Food operators start their business around 6 in the evening till 12 midnight but patrons usually come earlier in order to find a good parking spot. The area is usually packed, and if you come in a bit late, the probability of you finding a parking spot is slim to none. You would be considered lucky to even find one. Usually, it is night-time where the crowd amasses at 101 but the local customers would begin appearing in groups as early as 5.30pm to book their seats.

Some of the stall operators would open up early to prepare their dishes while others stick to the operating hours. However, customers who came early can only go for drinks while waiting for the stalls to be available or open. When the food stalls are open, customers can place their orders first rather than just waiting for it to be completely open to everyone, as the stalls are frequented by a lot of food hunters, in which queing can take a lot of time.

What is so unique about the food centre? Well, as mentioned above it has 101 food stalls serving the place with a variety of choices for you to get excited and drooling.

If you are a local, then most probably you tend to stick to what you usually eat. You want Kolo Mee? No problem. It’s there, too. How about a nice, steaming hot bowl of Har Kau Pau? Whatever you want, it’s there.

The other reason why the centre is the go-to place is because you can actually engage in a real conversation with your friends and family members outdoors and enjoy the air pervaded with the aroma of the food around you. And that ambiance is really one-of-a-kind these days.

While there are other places where others would prefer to eat than Premier 101 Food Centre, the above reasons are why the majority of regular patrons recommend the food centre. Whatever it is that you are craving for, you can almost certainly find it in Premier 101 Food Centre, the food emporium of Kuching.
