KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang extended their Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities by visiting open houses hosted by state leaders.
Following the conclusion of their own Hari Raya open house at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today (Apr 11), Abang Johari and his wife commenced their rounds of Raya visits.
Their first stop was at the Raya open house hosted by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali at Wisma SABATI.
Upon their arrival, Abang Johari and his wife received a warm welcome from Hasidah and her husband Datuk Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman.
Abang Johari’s brother, Datuk Seri Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, who is also the Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president, was also present at the open house.
The Premier’s next Raya visit was scheduled at Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki’s Hari Raya open house at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre.
Speaking to reporters, Hasidah expressed her joy at the harmonious atmosphere of this year’s festive celebrations with people from various backgrounds coming together.
“We hope this tradition (of celebrating festive seasons together) continues on to maintain the unity in Sarawak,” she said.
The open house, which started around 10am, had attracted hundreds of visitors who were eager to partake in the delicious treats and entertainment.
Among the notable guests that visited Hasidah’s open house was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and his wife Datin Seri Ruziah Mohd Tahir, and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Datuk Hussain.
