KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has paid a visit to Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud upon the latter’s return here from overseas recently.
A photo of the two of them was shared on Taib’s wife Instagram’s, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib late Wednesday.
The photo was taken at the Governor’s residence in Demak Jaya with the date Sept 17 2023 inscribed, and Taib and Abang Johari seen shaking hands and smiling.
Taib returned to Kuching on Sept 16 after being overseas for about two months.
He was previously in Istanbul, Turkiye recuperating from a surgery,
During his absence, State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar was appointed the acting Head of State from Aug 16 to Sept 17.
Previously, Taib’s private secretary Junih Salleh Ahmad on Aug 3 in a statement refuted claims about his deteriorating condition, saying that Taib would return home with the approval of his doctors.
