ABU DHABI: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg together with prominent group of industry leaders joined a panel discussion on Asia’s Role in Defining the Hydrogen Market during the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2024.

Among the esteem panellists were Mitsubishi Heavy Industries chief regional officer Hiroshi Matsuda, JOGMEC senior vice president Koji Yamamoto, INPEX senior vice president of Hydrogen and CCUS Development Shoichi Kaganoi, and Total Energies vice president of Green Gases Karine Boissy-Rousseau.

The discussion was moderated by Gaurav Sharma, an independent consultant, energy market analyst, and senior contributor at Forbes, who directed conversations on Asia’s dynamic role in the hydrogen economy.

As Asia is rapidly advancing its hydrogen technologies, the panel discussion revolved around how the region is poised to reshape the global energy landscape.

The panel discussion also touched on how substantial investments in low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia technologies are positioning countries like China, Japan, and South Korea at the forefront of clean energy innovation.
