KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Malaysia, His Excellency (H.E.) Edgard D. Kagan, at the Premier’s Office, Menara Pelita, Petra Jaya, here today.
According to Kagan, the visit aimed to strengthen trade relations, economic cooperation, and investment between the USA and the Sarawak government in the field of renewable energy.
“This is part of Sarawak’s efforts to boost hydrogen development while creating opportunities to enhance USA-Malaysia relations,” he said.
The courtesy visit is part of his two-day working visit here, which runs from October 17 to 18.
On Friday, Kagan is scheduled to attend the American Corner Sarawak 20th Anniversary event at the Sarawak State Library at 2.30 pm.
Also present during the courtesy visit was Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
