KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received two courtesy visits at his office today (July 12).
The first visit was from the United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia delegation led by its chief executive officer, Ng Wei Wei.
Among other matters discussed were UOB’s efforts to assist the Sarawak government to develop high value sectors such as renewable energy, digital technology and agrotechnology.
Abang Johari later received a similar visit from the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) led by SBF Country head (Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines) for Southeast Asia and Pacific Global Division 1, Tan Teck Lee.
The premier and the Singaporean delegation discussed economic collaboration between Singapore andSarawak through the Singapore and Sarawak Business Federations.
The Singapore Business Federation comprises 27,000 members while Sarawak has 12,000 members.
Also present during the courtesy call were the president of the Federation of Sarawak Business Associations, Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Abang Openg and the chief executive officer of the Sarawak Office of Trade and Tourism in Singapore (STATOS), Chew Chang Guan.
