Premier gets invite to Kenyalang Journalism Award

KUCHING: Organisers of the Kenyalang Journalism Award (KJA) 2023 have invited Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to grace the media event slated for Nov 24.

The invitation was extended when a delegation from the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) and the three main sponsors of the awards, namely Shell, Petronas and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) paid him a courtesy visit at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here today (Aug 14).

The visit also saw the Sarawak government donating RM100,000 to FSJA for the event while the three main sponsors contributed RM50,000 each for KJA 2023 which will be held at Pullman Hotel in Miri this year.

Abang Johari also received courtesy visits from two other delegations the same day.

One was from Petron Malaysia, led by its general manager, Faridah Ali, while the other was by the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office in Singapore (STATOS), with Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting leading the delegation.
