BALI: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has arrived in Bali, Indonesia, to participate in the 41st Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO).
Joining the Premier are Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Aidel Lariwoo, Sarawak Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, and senior government officials.
Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) reported that the Sarawak delegation arrived in Bali at 1.40pm local time today (Nov 21).
The three-day conference, running from Nov 20 to 23, will kick off with an opening ceremony at the Nusa Dua Convention Centre in Bali tomorrow (Nov 22).
During the ceremony, Abang Johari is set to be conferred the ‘Honorary Fellow’ title, an esteemed recognition reserved for distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession, institutional advancement and crucial national endeavours.
The conference is expected to bring together over 1,000 delegates, including Indonesian engineers, ASEAN representatives and international participants.
CAFEO serves as a vital platform for engineers, professionals and experts from the 10 ASEAN countries to share knowledge, experiences and best practices in the engineering field.
For the record, Indonesia became the 10th country in Asia to host this year’s conference, focusing on the theme ‘Igniting ASEAN’s Blue Economy and Green Energy’.
In addition to his participation in CAFEO, Abang Johari is scheduled to engage in the ASEAN Ministerial Forum held in Bali.
