KOTA SAMARAHAN: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s mission is to improve the lives of Sarawakians by providing free tertiary education and increasing household income.

This was his 73rd birthday wish today (August 4).

“My dream is that Sarawak will continue to develop, and everyone will have enough food on the table. That’s the key,” Abang Johari told reporters during a press conference at the launch of Tun Abang Haji Openg Digital Centre (TAHODC) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) today.

The Premier stressed that education is essential for maintaining Sarawak’s high-income status, which will ultimately benefit the people.

He said a strong economy is vital to provide numerous job opportunities.

“To have food on the table, we must have a robust economy that can create many jobs for the people,” he added.
