BANGKOK: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy visit from Malaysia’s Ambassador to Thailand, Datuk Jojie Samuel, over breakfast at the Intercontinental Bangkok.

The meeting was held before they proceeded to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre for the Future Energy Asia Summit 2024.

Upon arrival at the summit, Abang Johari officiated at the launch of Sarawak Energy Berhad’s (SEB) exhibition booth.

He was accompanied by a delegation that included State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni, SEB chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Sharbini Suhaili, and other dignitaries.

Abang Johari also visited exhibition booths by PTTEP, PTT and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Following the booth visits, Abang Johari delivered a keynote address titled “Sarawak Towards Sustainable Energy” to an audience of approximately 150 participants.

After his speech, he engaged with international media representatives, addressing various questions, including updates on Sarawak’s implementation of Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) technologies.
