PUSA: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has agreed to approve an allocation of about RM50 million for the development of the Pusa Link Road.
He said the link road will provide a larger and more convenient route connecting the new Pusa District Office to Pusa town, as explained to him by Betong Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Richard Rapu and Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli.
“I asked your MPs how much the project will cost, and they said about RM50 million, which is the ceiling price for projects carried out by the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD).
“If it is RM50 million, then okay. We will develop the road,” he said at the Batang Lupar parliamentary-level Gawai Raya event held at the Tandang Sari compound here Saturday (June 3).
Abang Johari said the newly-elevated Pusa district would get a new administration complex equipped with the latest IT facilities.
“Therefore, Pusa district will be within the scope of a new development for the Betong division area,” he added.
On the same note, Abang Johari pointed out that he had received a request for the development of four mosques and two surau in Batang Lupar.
“I will check first if we have allocation.
“Another thing is that we would have to conduct a study together with the Resident Office, District Office, and Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) on identifying mosque construction at divisional or district levels,” he said.
