Premier to declare open Bidayuh cultural village

KUCHING: The Bidayuh Cultural Village (BCV) at the Redeems Centre, Kampung Apar is set to open to the public next week.

The opening of BCV is in conjunction with the 25th Redeems anniversary which will be held from January 13 until 15.

Nansian

It is located approximately three kilometres from Tondong Bazaar and 25 kilometres from Kuching International Airport.

With the theme “Ra’an, Sua, Rami”, the event will be officiated by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Jan 14 at 8 pm.

This was revealed by president of Redeems, Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie at a press conference here yesterday.

He said the Premier will also launch a commemorative book in celebration of Redeems’s 25th anniversary. The book chronicles the development of the association from its inception to its plans for the future. The various details throughout the book have come from the Bisingai (Bidayuh Singai) community.

Redeems is a community based association for the 12 kampungs in Singai area of Bau district in Kuching, Sarawak chaired by Nansian.

The 12 villages are Kampung Apar, Kampung Segong, Kampung Barieng, Kampung Sudoh, Kampung Atas, Kampung Tanjong Poting, Kampung Tanjung Bawang, Kampung Senibong, Kampung Daun, Kampung Bobak Sajong, Kampung Bobak Sejinjang, and Kampung Sagah.
