KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) has received business tithe (zakat) amounting to RM220,000 from Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd.
Witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the handover of the business tithe took place at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
Senari Synergy Group’s managing director, Jefri Ahmad Tambi, handed over the tithe to Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) president Datuk Misnu Taha.
Jefri said part of the business tithe will be utilised to provide learning aids for children from less fortunate families.
He further added that they are also allocating a portion of the contribution to the Permata Synergy program, which aims to enhance educational access for underprivileged children aged five to twelve.
Earlier, the Premier also received a courtesy visit from a delegation led by RHB Bank Group’s managing director, Mohd Rashid Mohamed. The visit aimed to strengthen the ongoing collaboration between the Sarawak government and RHB Bank.
“Our cooperative efforts extend to various projects, particularly the Petchem Methanol Project where we provide advisory services. Thus, we strive to foster and reinforce this valuable partnership for the benefit of all,” said Mohd Rashid.
Also present were TBS’s general manager, Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
