KOTA SAMARAHAN: Secondary school-leavers in the Kota Samarahan constituency are advised to equip themselves with skills outside the scope of academic studies.

In a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Datuk Rubiah Wang stressed that they needed to master effective public communication, the usage of the latest applications and devices as well as various other skills needed in the workforce today.

According to the Kota Samarahan MP, in choosing a course at the pre-university or Bachelor’s degree level, “one needs to equip oneself with various skills.”

“However, facing the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) apart from the pandemic, it greatly affects the job opportunities offered in the future,” she added.

“So, secondary school-leavers need to choose the right course that offers various career opportunities in the future,” she said during the Form Six Graduation Ceremony Cohort 2020/2021 in Asajaya yesterday.

A total of 115 students of SMK Asajaya finished their Form Six and successfully sat for the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia public examination.
