CHINESE smartphone manufacturer Realme released the 10 Pro+ and the Realme 10 Pro last December, which were quickly followed by the Realme 10 in February this year.

These midrange smartphones have since been superseded by the Realme 11 family, which is probably the primary reason why the brand has now permanently slashed the price tags on two of the 10 series.

The company recently announced new, lower price tags for the Realme 10 and the Realme 10 Pro in Malaysia. The Realme 10 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, previously priced at RM999, is now priced at RM899. Its more premium sibling, the Realme 10 Pro, now goes for RM1,099, down from RM1,299 when it first launched.

To recap, the Realme 10 Pro features a large 6.72-inch LCD display, pushing an FHD+ resolution capable of a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 680 nits. Powering it, meanwhile, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 system-on-chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, running Android 13 out of the box, skinned with Realme UI 4.0 over it.

As for the camera setup, the Realme 10 Pro features a 108MP, f/1.75 main camera flanked by a secondary 2MP portrait camera with a 16MP, f/2.45 selfie camera in front. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging, stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm audio jack, along with support for 5G, WiFI 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.

On the other hand, the Realme 10 is a little smaller than the Realme 10 Pro at 6.4 inches, but on the upside, it uses an AMOLED panel instead.

The FHD+ display is capable of pushing a 90Hz refresh rate, has a peak brightness of 1,000nits and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over it for scratch resistance.

Inside, the device runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 system-on-chip, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and Android 12 out of the box. However, the chipset means that the Realme 10 is an LTE-only device.

As for the camera, it sports a dual rear camera setup, with a main 50MP, f/1.8 camera flanked alongside a 2MP black and white sensor, while in front is a 16MP, f/2.45 selfie shooter.

Similarly, the device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging too, with other features of note including a 3.5mm audio jack, a single bottom-firing “200% Ultraboom” speaker, and support for 4G LTE, WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3.

The reduced recommended retail prices for the device are currently reflected at both physical Realme stores nationwide as well as its official online stores on Shopee and Lazada.
