KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua Sg Tapang in MJC, Batu Kawa declared closure due to critical haze as the Air Pollution Index (API) reading exceeds 200.
The school closure involved all Primary 1 to Primary 5 pupils except for The Primary School Evaluation Test (UPSR) candidates.
The announcement was made via a notice from the school’s administration unit yesterday to inform the parents regarding the matter.
It stated, “The class will resume as usual when the API reading decreases to 200 and below.
“If the API reading continues to increase up to 300, parents are advised to follow the instruction from the Education Department.
“If you have any questions, please contact the respective class teachers.”
It is believed that more schools are not having classes today due to the current haze phenomenon in the state.
