SIBU: Sarawak Bus Transport Companies Association (SBTCA) appealed to the government to consider the needs of employees at bus terminals throughout the state to be given priority to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Its advisor Lau Khing Seng when contacted today said the staff members included bus drivers and conductors as well as ticketing clerks who are vulnerable to the risk of Covid-19 infection as they deal with the public on a daily basis.
“By giving priority to them (to receive the vaccines), it is able to give more confidence to those concerned to carry out their respective daily duties.
“At the same time, it will also be able to create a safe environment so that people, especially customers and colleagues will feel more confident and safe to deal at any bus terminal across the state,” he pointed out.
