KUCHING: The pro-tem Youth 1828 Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), catering for individuals aged 18 to 28, is expected to be launched in Sibu on Oct 5 and 6.
PBB secretary-general Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said all necessary regulations for the Youth 1828 Wing have been completed and incorporated into the party’s constitution, similar to the regulations governing the party’s Women and Youth Wings.
“However, these regulations need to be presented at the party’s general assembly early next year.
“Afterward, they must also receive approval from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) before they can be fully implemented,” he said told a press conference after the PBB supreme council meeting chaired by Premier and PBB president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) last night (Sept 30).
Nanta said that for now the PBB Youth 1828 Wing will be referred to as pro-tem.
PBB approved several amendment to the party’s constitution in June 2022, including the provisions for the establishment of the youth wing.
It was previously reported that the Youth 1828 Wing will be finalised at the party’s convention early next year.
Meanwhile, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) lynchpin is expected to hold its 16th general assembly, scheduled for at the end of January or early February next year.
