The fifth day of the second session of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting proceeded smoothly today (Nov 24), commencing at 9 am.
Elected representatives from across the state converged at the DUN complex for the sitting.
The session began with a prayer in the DUN chambers, presided over by DUN Speaker Datuk Amar Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
The sitting continued with an hour-long question-and-answer session, followed by the debate on the second reading of the 2024 State Budget.
Fourteen assemblypersons participated in the debate, raising various issues and suggestions, particularly concerning the needs of people in their respective constituencies.
The session also featured Engkilili assemblyman Johnical Rayong expressing his support for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. He praised the Premier’s vision for leading Sarawak towards a brighter, more prosperous, and sustainable future.
The DUN sitting adjourned at 6.07 pm
It will resume on Monday (Nov 27) – the sixth day of the sitting – with ministerial winding-up speeches.
