KUCHING: The productivity level in Sarawak has shown a positive trend, with the productivity achievement reaching RM102.6 thousand per worker in 2021 compare to RM92.1 thousand per worker in the same year.
This reflects a 0.42 per cent increase in state productivity from 2015 to 2021.
According to press release from the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), it has prepared the Sarawak Productivity Report 2022, which provides a full analysis of the state’s productivity performance.
The report focuses on core elements of productivity development, written by Malaysia Productivity Blueprint (MPB), including talent, technology, business environment, incentive structures and a productive mindset.
“This report is part of the initiative to analyse state-level productivity performance, and it involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector and industrial associations in Sarawak.
“This initiative is also to enhance productivity and competitiveness at the state level, ultimately benefitting the people’s wellbeing.”
MPC will continue to support the Sarawak government in monitoring the performance and will recommend targeted productivity development programmes to help Sarawak achieve its development goals for 2030.
“MPC Sarawak is now implementing various projects such as agile rules, behavioural insights, digitalisation and technology adaptation, in efforts to improve productivity and enhance the state’s competitiveness.”
