KUCHING: Project Park FC emerged champions of the Bintulu-Lea Sports Centre 2019 League after beating BPJ FC 2-1 in the final at the Bintulu Stadium on Sunday.

With the victory, Project Park FC won the Datuk Talib Zulpilip  challenge trophy, RM5,000 cash prize, an accompaniment trophy, medals and voucher from Lea Sports Centre (LSC).

Dainelffino Aiho was Project Park’s hero after he scored the winning goal for his team in the 90th minute.

The young striker also won the best player award while BPJ FC player Mohammad Nazrul Husni received the top scorer award.

Alexander Jerome put Project Park FC 1-0 ahead in the 12th minute before BPJ FC found the equaliser through Mohd Ikmaruddin Jais in the 60th minute. BPJ FC received a cash prize of RM3, 000, trophy, medals and LSC voucher.

Meanwhile, Press Metal FC and Empurau FC who lost the semifinals received a cash prize of RM1, 500 each, besides a trophy, medals and LSC vouchers.

In the Chief Minister’s Department, Integrity and Ombudsman Minister of Datuk Talib Zulpilip officiated at the closing and gave away the prizes. Among those present were Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president  Datuk  Posa  Majais,  FAS  vice president Phillip Jabu, Bintulu Division Football Association (Bifa) president Mohd Zaifulfadillah Junaidi and Kapit Division Football Association president Nicol Agoi.
