KUCHING: The Al Bait Leadership Foundation (YKAB), in collaboration with the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS), Sarawak Al Bait Cooperative Berhad (KOOPBAIT), and Your Choice Cafe, has launched the Al Bait Leadership Foundation’s Wellbeing Serving Project, an initiative providing free meals, especially to the asnaf community.

Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, the chief executive officer of TBS, mentioned that the contributions, in the form of food vouchers, can be used at any branch of Your Choice Cafe (YCC).

“These are contributions from those who wish to extend help to those in need. Through Your Choice Cafe, we have prepared various food combos for the allocated contributions.

“We distribute these contributions in the form of vouchers redeemable at all Your Choice Cafe branches to purchase food. Hence, those in need can also enjoy meals at the cafe like everyone else,” he stated during a media interview after the launch of the Wellbeing Serving Project at YCC today.

Furthermore, he clarified that for the launch of the programme, they aim to benefit 70 asnaf individuals.

“In the future, we will update and increase the number of recipients to include more less fortunate individuals who can experience free meals,” he added.

The Baitulmal Fund also distributed Love and Care Assistance (BKK) to 30 asnaf attendees during the launch event. The event was attended by deputy CEO of TBS, Bolhassan Iskandar Taibi, Al Bait Leadership Foundation manager, Abdul Hafiz Zainalabidin, and CEO of Bela Sempurna Sdn Bhd, Nazri Madon.
