THE state government under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has an excellent track record as detailed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg when tabling the Sarawak Budget 2021 on Monday (Nov 9).

In stating this, Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu (PBB-Tanjung Datu) reminded that not all government development projects would have an immediate impact as expected by some parties.

Instead, she said the impact of a project was focused towards long term and sustainability.

“Every need is addressed as best as possible for the comfort and wellbeing of the people in this state,” she said when delivering her debate today.

She said the Budget was a comprehensive one and focused on the needs of the people in line with Sarawak’s aim to become the most developed state by 2030.

Since 2017, Jamilah said a total of RM20.25mil had been allocated to implement 93 projek impak rakyat (impact projects) in the Tanjung Datu constituency in which 78 projects or 84 per cent had been completed.

The remaining 15 projects or 16 per cent are still in the implementation stage and expected to be completed in the near future.

“For the RTP (rural transformation programme) project for the year 2020, most of the projects are still in the early stages of implementation due to the movement control order.”
