BINTULU: The project to upgrade the logging road to Metalun Resettlement (Phase 6) and the proposed construction of a new road to Sungai Asap Resettlement Scheme will start soon.

According to Murum assemblyman, Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, these project were highly anticipated and much needed by the local community.

He said the projects would fulfill the wishes of the people in the area to have good road connectivity.

As such, he called on the people to cooperate to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

“The government’s approval of this project also shows a strong commitment to develop infrastructure in rural areas,” he added.

He said this at the coordination meeting of the two projects held at the Office of the Bintulu Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday.

Also present were Kapit Division engineer, Jawa Gara, and assistant engineer, Christopher Donovan.
